Hot in Houston

This is my first post from Texas and it feels the same as posting from California, although it is much, much hotter here (even with the ac). That's one of the first things that I had to adjust to. Living in the bay area for an extended period of time makes you unconfortable in anything outside the 68-75 degrees range. In Houston, where the word muggy is invented, it is hot and humid everyday since I've been back. I think the only people who like this weather are those who like to take 20 showers a day, cause after you step outside for two minutes, you will need to take a shower. I guess the Sports Guy is right.

On the other hand, Houston downtown, where I'm working, is nicer than I had imagined/remembered. The downtown area has been nicely renovated since the early 90's and there are a couple of nice malls and restaurants within walking distance from work. The whole underground network is pretty useful when that nasty Texas weather rolls around. I can see the new Toyota Center from my window (5 blocks away). I can't wait til the season starts so I can walk over to a game. :)
